About Larissa Kochnowicz

I graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology from UMBC 2014, and worked in restaurants for a brief period while I figured out what I wanted to do. I eventually decided to go into nursing, and got a job at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD as a certified nursing assistant to get more experience while I was in school. I stayed at Suburban for 2 years while I completed my nursing program. I finished my Nursing Associate's Degree in Jan 2020 and completed my Nursing New Graduate Residency Jan 2021 via the Vizient Program provided at Holy Cross Hospital - Silver Spring. I am currently working on a 30 bed Acute Cardiac Care/Telemetry floor. I am currently in progress to complete my Bachelor's and Master's in Nursing via Chamberlain's RN-BSN-MSN program. My goals for my career future include continuing to develop my nursing and assessment skills via bedside patient care, and keeping up with Evidence Based Practice. I intend to finish my Master's program within 6 years, but am currently focused on getting hands on experience and finishing my bachelor's. On a personal note, I enjoy running and being outdoors. Staying active is incredibly important, especially since I am a healthcare worker and encourage my patients to be more active, which is important in taking care of your heart. I belong to a very active running group, and have even taken on leadership roles within the organization over the years I have participated. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and spending lots of time with my family and loved ones. I am definitely a dog person, but love all animals. I have a list of places I want to travel and eat my way through, and also run a page for foodies where people post their recipes, photos, and much more!
