About Larissa Panetta

I hold a PhD in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology. I am completing my requirements for licensing with the College of Psychologists in Ontario. My research focuses on identifying relationships between observable psycho-social phenomena and unseen bio-physiological patterns. I specialize in human development. My focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and other neurodivergent disorders/developmental disabilities. I have over a decade of experience working with a diverse range of youth in terms of age (2-27), intersectional identities, settings (i.e, school, clinical, health), and presenting concerns. I am trained in a number of therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, and EFFT. I use an integrative skillset and attachment-focus in my approach to therapy with children and youth. I operate from a neurodiversity-informed lens and strive to bridge the gap in understanding between activist communities and the profession of psychology. I am a passionate advocate for causes related to child welfare and intersectional human rights. I am also a former elementary and high school teacher registered with the College of Teachers in Ontario and the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board. However, most of my teaching experience has been in University-level psychology courses, with an emphasis on statistics.
