About Larissa Walker

I have over 15 years of experience driving results for research, academic, government, and healthcare entities as a technical writer, copy editor, agile project manager, AI specialist, and educator. My career began in higher education, where I held progressive leadership positions in teaching and institutional research. However, the logistics of academia didn’t align well with my husband’s military career, so I transitioned to a role that combined my deep knowledge of the life sciences with the joy of helping researchers and clinicians share their discoveries with lay audiences and decision-makers. As a Senior Scientific and Technical Writer, I provided developmental editing and principal writing services for a broad range of projects, such as research manuscripts, protocols, technical documentation, grant proposals, tenure packages, and patient education materials. In that role, I supported a large team of contract editors and managed many multi-institutional projects, from initiation to close, that were collectively awarded over $100 million in federal research funding. Currently, I am the Manager of Proposal Quality and AI Excellence at AmeriHealth Caritas, where I lead a team of editors in ensuring the quality, consistency, and clarity of managed care proposals submitted to state markets. Our team drives innovation and supports high-stakes enterprise initiatives, including the successful integration of generative AI across the proposal lifecycle, from Go-to-Market and capture planning to development and production. As project manager for this initiative, I work cross-functionally with SMEs, executive leaders, technical back-end teams, and end-users to ensure every aspect of platform implementation and adoption is successful. I excel in environments where I can combine and leverage my technical expertise with my strong skills in relationship building. An enduring theme in my career journey is my desire and ability to translate complex concepts into action plans, strategic initiatives, and high-quality deliverables.
