Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. Chesapeake, VA 1975 - 2016 My lengthy career with K&K Toys/Dollar Tree began as a sales associate at the age of 16 in Springfield, VA. Positions are in order of last first. A detailed of tenure in each position follows the position responsibilities. As Regional Director, I oversaw approximately 18 District Managers with 200 stores in the region. Hired, counseled and coached associates while also handling sales budgeting, inventory control, manage merchandise ordering, shrinkage controls, succession planning, and upward mobility of associates, and personnel issues. Worked to build team, teach associates strong leadership skills and communication techniques while fostering an open-door policy to grow the Region and Company. Also dealt with real estate issues at store locations while searching for and analyzing potential new locations. Communicated store needs to corporate buyers which also included suggestions for regional specific items. Managed upcoming advertisements, held hiring events, coordinated special promotions and grand opening celebrations. During the Family Dollar transition to the Dollar Tree corporation, I was responsible for overseeing the migration of 200 Family Dollar stores. This involved overseeing whether or not those 200 stores were far enough from existing Dollar Tree Stores. Also oversaw the conversion of Deals stores into the multi-price point Family Dollar side or converted to Dollar Tree single price-point stores. The responsibilities as Vice President included the above while overseeing approximately 3 Regional Directors and 3 Trainers and Merchandisers within the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic region of the company. Developed a detailed understanding of issues and trends for the company's product line in order to develop and execute a business plan to meet the objectives both customer-service wise, and company wise
