About Larry Cathey

I am an experienced and talented creative professional skilled in the areas of design, layout, typography and photo manipulation as well as both digital and traditional illustration. I am highly experienced having worked in both agency and corporate advertising and branding. I served for 13 years as Art Director for Wright and then Creative Director for MicroPort Orthopedics, both of whom are globally-branded leaders in the field of Orthopedic devices and research. Since that time I have been self-employed with a combination design and illustration-based studio, Heycatstudios. In the areas of design, I am well versed in the process and production of moving collateral material from initial concepts to finished printed pieces to enhance sales and cultivate information. This area would include but is not limited to magazine, brochure, technical guides, web page design, website design, content rich email distribution and exhibit booth graphics. In addition to having created medical illustrations across 50 different medical device launches, I have been published in 25 global orthopedic journals. I work very well as a creative leader within a team, or alone as a motiva ed individual. I am well organized and wish to assemble and distribute project information quickly and efficiently to all parties concerned, delegating as needed while remaining hands-on for key-critical aspects. I have extensive experience and I am fluent using Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, in addition to the standard Microsoft Office Suite.
