About Larry Haydn

Software: I began to learn computer programming around 1980 when I bought a Commodore C64 computer. That launched a lifelong interest in computers and software engineering. But it took a long while before I began doing projects. In 1997, I took my first project, developing a software for American Express. Two years later I worked on a few project for the US Navy, developing three applications for them. That also involved upgrading and migrating their database to a newer version of SQL Server, and after 9-11 converted one of the software to a web-based MIS system, which was used by their Singapore and Hong Kong offices. The next few years, I took on software projects for Dell, Air Products & Chemicals, BHP-Billiton, Datacraft, SPANS, DebonairWears (online retail, payment gateway, barcoding), TaxPRO, Standard Chartered Bank, Williams-Sonoma, Airwave, and a few small projects for local companies. In 2011, I worked on a contract project for - and was subsequently hired by - The Northern Trust. In 2015 I left Northern Trust to start my own consulting business, doing software projects for BNY-Mellon, NIP Asia Pte Ltd, ML Plastics Industries Sdn Bhd, Lybase Sdn Bhd, and also Northern Trust.
