About Larry Leva

I recently completed my term as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation. The Trustees are responsible for the governance and oversight of the IFRS Foundation, including of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the newly created International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). On the Board of Trustees, I served as the Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee and as a member of the Executive, Sustainability Steering, Due Process, and Ethics committees. The IFRS Foundation is a public interest organization established to develop a single set of high-quality, understandable, enforceable and globally accepted accounting and sustainability disclosure standards—IFRS Standards—and to promote and facilitate adoption of the standards. IFRS Standards are developed by our two standard-setting boards, the IASB and the ISSB. I retired as KPMG International's Vice Chairman for Global Quality, Risk Management and Regulatory and as an executive member of its senior leadership team in December 2018. I led a team of outstanding professionals from around the world responsible for driving a culture focused on quality, compliance and the highest ethics across all of KPMG’s businesses and ensuring we had trusted and respectful relationships with the regulatory community. In my over 40-year career with KPMG, I previously served as Lead Audit Partner and Account Executive on some of KPMG’s largest global accounts. I held numerous leadership positions serving on the US firm’s Management Committee and the US Board of Directors. I was elected the US firm’s first Lead Director and served as chair of the US Board’s Audit and Finance and Board Process (Governance) Committees as well as serving on the Board’s Professional Practice, Ethics and Compliance Committee.
