About Larry M.

I graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in December 2014. I had a passion for space exploration since I was a small child and attended Space Camp in 1998 and later taught it in 2011. While at Space Camp, I specialized in teaching the Robotics Camp. While attending UAHuntsville, I also work with Huntsville City Schools to fill in for math and science teachers of all levels. I believe everyone should have a love for science and work very hard to give every student a chance to unlock that passion. During my time as an undergraduate in 2013 and 2014 I worked as part of a research group for 2 semesters discussing, analyzing, and developing methods for a cost-effective laser based asteroid defense system. In my final semester at UAH, I helped design a patch antenna array in High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) compatible with Printed Circuit Board technology to assist in UAV target avoidance for the UAH octocopter UAV. In the summer of 2014 I worked as a Robotics Academy Research Associate for NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. My team entered the NASA/Lockheed Martin poster expo out of 150+ interns with our project entitled "Validation of Electroadhesion as a Docking Method for Spacecraft and Satellite Servicing". We were judged 1st place and awarded the monetary prize by NASA and Lockheed Martin employees for research merit, organization, team structure, and interview presentation.
