About Larry McLaren

Larry McLaren was born and raised in Venice. He attended the University of South Florida, and graduated with a B.A. Finance. After graduating in 2002, Mr. McLaren began his banking career with Englewood Bank & Trust where he worked as a credit analyst and junior lending officer. He left the bank in 2004 to expand his commercial lending experience throughout the Suncoast area. In 2010, Mr. McLaren graduated from the American Bankers Association’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania. He returned to Englewood Bank & Trust in 2011 as Senior Lending Officer, bringing with him 11 years of commercial lending and leadership experience. In December 2013, at the age of 34, Mr. McLaren, was appointed President of Englewood Bank & Trust. In his role as President, he has seen to the strategic restructuring of the Bank’s loan portfolio, leading to a significant increase in income and assets and a reduction in risk. In 2016 McLaren was appointed to be the Chief Credit Officer of the Crews Banking Corporation, the holding company which owns Englewood Bank & Trust as well as Wauchula State Bank, First State Bank of Arcadia and Charlotte State Bank & Trust. As Chief Credit Officer he is responsible for overseeing the credit and lending functions at all the holding company banks. When he’s not working, Mr. McLaren gives his time to various community organizations. He has been active in, and has held leadership roles as chair of the Englewood YMCA advisory board, Venice MainStreet, Inc, the Sertoma Club of Venice, Venice Area Chamber of Commerce, Venice Area Young Professionals and the Loveland Center in Venice.
