About Larry Roberts
After a 41 year career in ocean and rail containerized freight transportation, including ten years in Asia, I have devoted my time in retirement to non-profit public service in the Jacksonville area. From 2010 through 2022 I served as president of JTC Running, a non-profit club of 1200 members devoted to running and physical fitness. JTC Running is the owner and promoter of the Gate River Run, the national championship 15k road race that attracts participants in Jacksonville each March. I have been on the Club's Board of Directors since 2002. I serve on the City of Jacksonville's Context Sensitive Streets Standards Committee, which is tasked with ensuring that city streets, sidewalks, and intersections are designed to safely meet the needs of vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. I also serve on the Jacksonville Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee which focuses on improving safety and conditions for cyclists, runners, and walkers on the streets of Jacksonville.
