Zamia Design, Inc. is a full service landscape architecture firm located in Gainesville, FL. The design firm concentrates on meaningful collaborative public and commercial projects in Alachua County and throughout the state of Florida. Services focus on site planning and urban design in addition to providing native plant expertise, irrigation design, graphic support and contract administration. Zamia Design is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council as indication of its emphasis on smart growth and sustainable design. Zamia Design also provides residential design-build services. By emphasizing the benefits of reduced inputs, many projects have resulted in the replacement of turf dominated yards with beautiful and sustainable native landscapes. By promoting Florida native plants, landscapes are developed that are not only drought tolerant but also beneficial to local wildlife and more in tune with the region’s sense of place. The principal, Larry Teague, RLA, ASLA, is a LEED Accredited Professional that has been practicing in Gainesville since 1993 in both the private and public arenas. His involvement with a wide variety of projects including commercial centers, institutional facilities, residential developments, park planning, and sustainable design projects has resulted in a thorough understanding of diverse client needs.
