About Lars Brenna

Product manager at Microsoft Development Center Norway working on applied AI and contributing to Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Graph. I enjoy all things research and development, as well as technology management and sales. I particularly enjoy working in the cross-over between science, engineering and business. As a software developer and scientist, I have written mostly C, C++, Java and Python. I have worked and done business in six countries, including both US coasts. My work and research background can be described as "moving large amounts of data from one place to another, while allowing high-speed analysis and executive decision making". My PhD investigated push-based supplements to the pull-based Web. My research focused on distributed systems, and in particular the scalability of NFA-based event processing systems. I also worked on aspects of human-computer interaction and information retrieval that are related to push-based systems. I graduated in April 2010, and then worked in various startups in both Norway and San Francisco, before going back to research as a postdoctorate fellow in 2016. Post-doctoral research has included privacy issues related to data collection and processing systems, with emphasis on confidential computing.
