A Chief Officer at Esvagt A/S in Offshore Wind Industry primarily works with being in charge of Vessel operations, administrative work, maintenance on the ship, on board safety, and environmental protection. The Chief Officer is responsible for training on board crew, keeping ship’s equipment on deck/in hospital up to date ensuring the ship’s compliance with maritime law and regulations.The Chief Officer is to take command of the vessel in case the Captain becomes indisposed and is therefore obliged to familiarize himself with the master’s responsibility and authority. The Chief Officer is responsible for ordering stores, medicine and provision for the ship. He is in charge of sending port papers and planning port stays. Furthermore, he is responsible for the vessel’s stability/ballast and for the correct excecution of cargo operations.The Chief Officer has overall responsibility for giving first aid.The Chief Officer is in charge of emergency response operations.I finished my Bachelor degree as Master Mariner 3rd of November 2017 and I am currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark.
