About Lars Modig

After working as a service engineer on home entertainment appliances for 5+ years, I saw that the tendency in the industry were moving into exchange instead of repair and the technology I loved and the troubleshooting that was the boost in the work declined in my everyday work. After evening studies in mathematics and English I started at the Royal Technology High school (KTH) in After final degree I started in the consultant business of signal system design. A year later I got contacted by Electrolux to join the new developed Sthlm R&D set up. At Electrolux I got to work close to technology in the complete product workflow (R&D to Product Care and phase out) at Home Care and SDA.(vacuum cleaners, robots, sticks, canisters, air purifiers, coffee makers, iron, etc.) With management control for a global team (Core Technology and Verification) including Stockholm, Shanghai and Hungary. Heading technical experts and laboratories. My responsibilities: Personal mgmt. like salaries, development talk, team planing. BU ownership. Part of management team approving project check points and gen. planing. Contact window vs 3rd party test institutes and authorities. I was as well involved in standardization work as a technical expert within WG3 in TC59 and also a member for small appliances at APPLiA a lobby organ of manufacturers vs EU commission. In 2021 I got the task to set up a unit at Charge Amps responsible for verification, validation and compliance including developing a new laboratory. Except the challenge to create a new organisation and purchasing adequate equipment I as well maintain similar responsibilities as at Electrolux including sharing know how from product development at a global company.
