About Lars Pels

What? The more you enjoy something, the better you become at it. And I still enjoy making video's and animations. Remember what you wanted to be when you grew up? I only knew I had to do something with my creativity. Drawing has always been, and still is, my biggest hobby, and I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was 11 years old. During my college education, I fell in love with motion and video. I always loved (animated) films, but when I learned to edit and animate myself, I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to share this knowledge with everyone. As an Art Director and Motion Designer, I imagine, create, edit, and animate for major brands. Instructional videos, explainers, social campaigns, 360º projections—everything to help clients achieve their goals. With my hands in the work but also behind the scenes, selecting the right visual direction for a project and guiding a team. Good to know: Japan is my greatest source of inspiration. The energy in Japanese animation motivates me to give my animations the same impact. The design in Japanese commercials is a dopamine hit that encourages me to experiment more. The country is also incredibly photogenic, which is why I’m always happy to increase the shutter count on my camera when I am there. I enjoy talking with colleagues about the craft, helping each other grow, and discovering where someone’s true passion lies. But what truly defines me is that I never stop learning and growing. Just because I love to.
