About Lasse Immonen

A technologist with special interest in open source stuff, UX design, enterprise, IT and software architecture. I have eight years of experience working in IT in different roles and phases of development. At the moment I'm in charge of R&D at Onesto. I started my career as a workstation administrator, moved to *nix servers and support services and finally to software development and my current role. I'm comfortable working both in operations and development. Originally I was aiming for business studies and marketing after high school. I was also busy developing Linux skills as a hobby and after a while that took over. I realised I was more on engineering path. Business studies have been an on the side activity. Arts and design have always intrigued me. I've been a hobbyist musician, web site builder and a fan of industrial design greats since a school boy. I'm happy that I'm currently able to combine all my interests in my current job in which we're constantly striving for creating better IT experiences. Specialties: Telco BSS (business support systems), service management, Ruby on Rails, Linux, design, architecture and business understanding.
