About Latha Chari

I am a doctorate in Finance from BITS Pilani and a FCMA, ICAI, India. My work experience spans across a period of about two decades, equally divided between academia and Industry. I started my academic career as Fellow, IILM, New Delhi. At IILM I was teaching papers like Accounting information for decision making, Corporate finance for the BSc. and MSc. program of Bradford University, UK. Then I moved to Mumbai and Joined ITM, Kharghar as lecturer and grew up the ranks to become the Deputy Director, heading ITM Institute of Financial Markets. In my decade long tenure at ITM I had the opportunity to teach, research, associate myself with building of simulated trading labs, design, develop and deliver courses related to capital markets,customised training programs for corporate clients like ICICI securities, SEBI officers, IRS officers, IBA and the like. Further, I was instrumental with getting the institution accredited by various global professional bodies like CISI, PRMIA, FPSB and training for these certifications to professionals and students. During my academic tenure I have published several papers in national and international journals and conducted MDP’s in the areas of financial asset valuation, strategic cost management, trading and operations in equity markets, performance evaluation of mutual funds and the like. My areas of research interests include strategic cost management, corporate valuations, shareholder value enhancement and similar studies. As Dy. Director at ITM IFM, was managing a team of 35 faculty and staff members, got the institute accredited as CPE training provider for NISM certifications and conducted CPE training programs across multiple locations in the country for more than 1500 professionals. My stint with industry includes primarily HMT as accounts officer and work with Chartered and cost accountants in the fields of cost audit, bank audit, preparation of project feasibility reports, term and working capital loan proposals.
