About Latoya Simms

The accounting industry was not something I learned from a book; accounting was a natural skill I developed from a young age, I have always loved working with numbers. I am very experienced in the accounting industry because I have been working in this industry for over 20 years and counting. From 2004-2005, I worked as a Budget Analyst and Administrative Assistant at Defense Logistics Agency. From 2005-2008, I worked as a Financial Operations Contractor for the same organization. From 2008-2009, I worked as a Financial Analyst for Defense Logistics Agency. In 2010 I started my role with Production Solutions as a Billing Specialist and worked my way up to a position as a Senior Billing Specialist until 2020. Moved back to supporting the federal government from 2020-2021 contracting with Grant Thornton at The Department of Homeland Security as a Financial Analyst. Currently, a Budget Analyst for the Federal Government at the U.S. Coast Guard. As far as my education I have earned a Associate's Degree in Business Administration at Strayer University in which I attended from 2008-2012. I have earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Accounting from University of Maryland University College. Now, I am recent graduate with a Master's Degree, field of study Project Management at University of Maryland University College.
