About Laura Barp

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience managing a food chemical analysis laboratory in all its aspects. My responsibilities have included- improving of internal methods and developing new analytical approaches to save time and costs, enhance results, simplify technicians’ tasks, and meet customers’ needs- planning and supervising analysis, handling and interpreting data, and registering using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)- performming routine maintenance on analytical instruments and supervising extraordinary maintenance- managing quality in accordance with UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards. My instrumental expertise includes a range of techniques such as HPLC-DAD/FLD/RI, IC-EC/PAD/CAD, GC-FID/MS, LC-GC-FID/MS, GCxGC-FID/MS, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, multimode microplate reading, automated microplate analysis (ELISA), and automated liquid handling. Currently, I work within a research group focused on food chemistry, with a specific emphasis on analyzing environmental and process contaminants. I place particular importance on innovative sample preparation techniques. Additionally, I teach Food Chemistry, blending research and educational activities to provide both advanced scientific knowledge and student training.
