Subject matter expert (SME) of the North American payroll system, including day-to-day functionality as well as testing new business implementations and system releases. Responsibilities include researching, analyzing and resolving complex payroll discrepancies requiring comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies, procedures while ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, local and Canadian provincial taxes. Manages the development of payroll documentation for both internal payroll use as well as customers outside of payroll. Supports the Payroll Director in managing all aspects of department communication including both internal and external communications. Oversees the project management of special projects for the North American (NA) payroll organization. These projects include software upgrades and implementations, testing, recorded trainings, mergers and acquisitions as well as training and supporting documentation for both Human Resources customers and employees. Responsible for monitoring the compliance of the payroll team while ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place and aligned with the Internal Control Reference Framework (ICRF) and Compliance Statement. Responsible for overseeing the Statement of Work (SOW) process with the business units that identifies roles and responsibilities between payroll and its customers. Conducts customer satisfaction surveys, reports on and monitors payroll KPI’s to analyze performance trends and makes recommendations for process improvements. Monitors and reports on progress of action plans generated from the annual Compliance Statement, customer surveys, and internal audits, etc. Responsible for implementing action plans to mitigate the company’s payroll risks, while keeping executive leadership informed.
