Background
About Laura Bartle
I am a skilled Research Scientist with over two decades of experience in early and pre-clinical drug discovery, specializing in gene editing, immuno-oncology, and cell biology. My work has focused on developing innovative therapeutics using cutting-edge platforms like CRISPR, base editing, ADCs, and engineered T cell therapies. I bring deep expertise in in vitro assay development, ADC and antibody characterization, and managing in vivo studies with CROs across murine and NHP models. My hands-on technical background includes CRISPR-Cas9, lentiviral and mRNA editing, multicolor flow cytometry, cytokine assays, antibody characterization, cytotoxicity assays, and stable cell line development. I’ve also led the development of PK assays and managed complex CRO collaborations, while mentoring team members and contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams. Recently, I was part of the Immuno-Oncology team at CRISPR Therapeutics, where I was involved in scientific efforts across targeted conditioning and allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy platforms. I’ve co-authored 30 scientific publications and supported the advancement of therapies now in the clinic, including a fully approved anti-FOLRα ADC for ovarian cancer and a CD38 functional antibody for multiple myeloma. I’m a highly collaborative, detail-oriented, data-driven scientist who thrives in fast-paced environments and is deeply motivated by the opportunity to help bring transformative therapies to patients. Competencies: • Gene Editing: CRISPR, base editing, lentiviral/mRNA delivery • Cell & Molecular Biology: T cell & HSC assays, multicolor flow cytometry, cytokine release assays • Antibody/ADC Development: Binding Affinity, ABC, competition, internalization, CDC, ADCC, cytotoxicity/ combination cytotoxicity assays • In Vivo Studies: CRO management, murine & NHP models, PK/PD, CFU, FLOW assays • Assay Development: ELISA, PK assays, co-culture, functional in vitro systems • General Software: Benchling Electronic Lab Notebook, Microsoft Suite: Excel, Power Point, Word Technical Software: NovoExpress, FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, SnapGene, Geneious, Compusyn • Leadership: Mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, data presentation & publication
