About Laura Bourke

I am a chartered accountant with 9 years of internal audit experience providing tailored practical solutions to clients to strengthen their internal controls framework, mitigate risk and enhance their operational processes. I have particular experience working with regulators, government, public sector and not for profit clients. I have also worked closely with many education and financial services clients during my tenure. Key areas of expertise includes: financial controls, procurement, governance, regulatory compliance, project management, governance, fraud and corruption, and risk management. I am a business degree graduate and have a diploma in both Forensic Accounting and Forensic Psychology and Criminology (corporate fraud). As an Investigator at the Law Society of NSW, my role focuses on ascertaining the compliance of legal practitioners with Part 4.2 of Uniform Law, the detection and deterrence of fraud and conducting investigations.
