About Laura Dangelo

An experienced transactional lawyer, Laura divides her time between general business law matters, commercial lending and equine and gaming law. She leverages her MBA and law degrees to counsel domestic and international clients on a wide range of business and legal matters and is a frequent advisor to high net worth individuals and families. On the equine side, she advises equestrian competition organizers on licensing and regulatory matters involving USEF and FEI governing bodies. She assists horse owners, riders, breeders and trainers in a wide range of matters, including purchase and sales of thoroughbreds and sport horses, syndications, partnerships, breeding agreements, boarding contracts and the purchase and sale of horse farms. Laura is nationally recognized as a leader in gaming law, having served as Associate General Counsel for Magna Entertainment Corporation and General Counsel for Gulfstream Park in Miami, Florida. She counsels clients on an array of gaming matters, including simulcasting, pari-mutuel wagering, online wagering, fantasy gaming, charitable gaming, sweepstakes and promotions. Her corporate practice includes advising international and domestic clients on all aspects of business law, mergers and acquisitions, formation of entities, governance and contractual matters. Laura is an active member of the American Bar Association's Committee for Limited Liability Companies and Partnerships. She is a Fellow of the American College of LLC and Partnership Attorneys. Working as lender’s counsel, she has closed over one billion dollars worth of transactions, drafting or reviewing Middle Market asset-backed loan documents, and advising on securitization of loans including those secured by racetrack assets, gaming assets and bloodstock. Ms. Holoubek is an adjunct Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law where she teaches Equine Law. Ms. Holoubek is a General Member of the International Masters of Gaming Law. She currently sits on the governing boards of New Vocations (racehorse retraining and rehoming), the Ed Brown Society (advancing the interests of students of color in the horse industry) and the Community Board for Independence Bank. She is the current President of the Board of Equestrian Events, Inc. which is known world-wide for hosting the Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event, an FEI 5* event, each spring in Kentucky.
