About Laura Edgar

Laura leads the Institute’s work on board and organizational governance, including providing advisory services related to roles, responsibilities and functioning of boards of directors, strategic planning, member engagement and governance assessments. She also provides tailored learning programs on request. She has a strong professional and academic background in the governance of public purpose organizations, business management, adult education, and international programming. Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Edgar was the Programs Coordinator at the Institute for Leadership Development, where she led several programs for young professionals and young entrepreneurs. Ms. Edgar has completed an M.A. in Economics at the University of Guelph, and also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition, she lived and worked for two years in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa and two years in Japan, and has managed several projects in South-East Asia. Ms. Edgar is currently Chair of the Board of Parkinson Canada.
