About Laura Gilbert

I have 20 years of experience in electrical design for commercial buildings. Lighting design is my passion; however I am also well-versed in electrical distribution, fire alarm, and telecommunications design. In addition to having detailed knowledge about codes related to electrical and fire alarm design, I have a strong knowledge of building codes and how they relate to electrical systems for which I am responsible. In addition to providing a complete electrical design on schedule that is conscience of the Owner's budget and requests, I pride myself in being an integrated part of the design team, offering thorough coordination between all disciplines. I have been a part of the design team for a wide variety of project types, including but not limited to K-12 schools; colleges and universities; churches; libraries; municipal services buildings (fire and police stations and government buildings); and the full spectrum of long-term care from assisted living to skilled nursing. I have provided the electrical design and documentation for numerous LEED-certified buildings, including two Platinum projects.Walking into a finished space and seeing how the design went from concept to reality with the occupants using the space for its purpose is what motivates me to put my best effort into each project.
