About Laura Halstead

I help investors put their capital to work in the energy transition enabling investors to drive the transition to net zero. I’m part of the senior leadership team at Octopus Energy Generation, where we manage over £7bn in renewable energy assets. I'm a Director on multiple boards and a member of our investment committee, and am responsible for how our business and funds are run—operationally, commercially, sustainably and in line with evolving regulation. I’ve spent over 20 years leading operational change, with the last 8 in energy-focused fund management. My experience spans public and private market vehicles, new fund launches, IPOs, and wind-downs. I work closely with investment, finance and legal teams to ensure we deliver for investors—while building governance structures that are robust, practical and fit for scale. I'm someone who gets under the bonnet of how things run—whether it’s setting strategy, solving inefficiencies, or managing complex change. I also lead our approach to sustainability and impact across the fund range. That includes overseeing ESG strategy and ensuring compliance with SFDR, EU Taxonomy, TCFD and related frameworks—particularly for Article 9 funds.
