About Laura Hooper

Passionate, communicative and capable communications professional with a passion for politics, popular culture and community-led change. I have an undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations, and a masters degree in International Journalism, both from the University of Melbourne. I worked as a journalist in Southland, New Zealand and Alice Springs, Northern Territory, before commencing my communications career in the Office of Julian Hill MP, Member for Bruce. Prior to starting my professional career, I had eight years experience in hospitality in both Australia and the United States, and believe this has fostered problem-solving skills, as well as an appreciation and understanding of how the workforce is treated and undervalued in different international settings.
