About Laura Koerner

I'm a Navy veteran, project management professional, engineer, and public servant focused on strengthening support for veterans and improving the communities we call home. With degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy and MIT, I’ve led complex engineering and project portfolios in both defense and civilian sectors. As Chairwoman of the Texas Veterans Commission, I’m honored to help shape the programs and budget priorities that serve over 1.5 million veterans in Texas—advocating for needed resources and ensuring effective implementation. During my three terms on City Council in Fair Oaks Ranch, I worked to improve local infrastructure, transparency, and engagement. I bring discipline, strategy, and follow-through to everything I do—whether managing enterprise portfolios at USAA, serving my state, or raising twins with my husband.
