About Laura Lane

As the founder of two community newspapers at Richner Communications, I have a passion for delivering relevant and engaging news to over subscribers each week. I manage a staff of reporters and serve as the senior editor of six newspapers covering the North Shore of Long Island, including breaking news, politics, features, and schools.I have received over a dozen awards from the New York Press Association and the Press Club of Long Island for my work, including my contributions to in-depth reporting, news, and obituaries. Previously, I worked as a freelance copy editor for BestReviews, where I enhanced the readability and quality of over 200 reviews for online consumers.I was also the Editor-in-Chief of the Suffolk Lawyer, the Suffolk County Bar Association's monthly newspaper. I revamped the paper by increasing contributions from attorneys on a wide variety of topics and adding monthly special sections.I am looking for consulting or part-time work in writing, editing, and proofreading, where I can leverage my skills and expertise in community journalism.
