About Laura Lopera

With over four years of work experience in bilingual communications and data analysis, I am currently working as a research assistant for HPDC. Previously, I was a student intern at Justice Sustainability Associates (JSA), a consulting firm specializing in facilitating dialogue and collaboration on complex social and environmental issues. I hold a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Cambridge College and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in environmental science at Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, I am certified in green infrastructure, composting, and the health effects of climate change, reflecting my commitment to sustainability and equity. In my role as a research assistant for HPDC, I am involved in data management tasks such as data collection. Collaborating with a team of consultants and researchers, I contribute to projects focusing on stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and policy analysis. Proficient in Excel and other data visualization tools, I ensure that information is effectively organized and presented for project success. My proficiency in both Spanish and English enables me to effectively engage with diverse audiences and simplify complex information. This experience has strengthened my data management and communication skills, expanding my understanding of social justice issues and pathways to impactful solutions.
