About Laura Manning

I have gained a lot of experience in different arrears during my working life. I was employed for 7 years with Boots the Chemist and did a variety of roles from working on the make up counter to working as a Dispenser in the pharmacy. I have worked in an office environment for over 12 months in 2 different roles. I was working as an Asset Administrator within the Disrepair team, I am currently responsible for processing all Section 11 disrepair claims for Liverpool City Region. This entailed sending all information, which I gathered from various systems such as Open Housing, Tera Term, EDMS, BIRT, One Market Place and Academy about the property and tenant to our Solicitors. I managed six asset officers’ diaries and book them in for Pre and Post Inspections along with a foreman from Evolve. I sometimes had to book the tenants alternative accommodation whilst the works are being done, which I used Capita booking system to do so. I also raised cheques for legal fees for the solicitors or decoration costs for the tenants, using Kontrolla. Of recent the Disrepair team are responsible for ordering void communal keys which entails logging a job on Open Housing. We were also responsible for finding and ordering EPC certificates which is either on the government website or, if the property does not have one we ordered it from Vibrant. I have worked with the Fostering Team for Wirral Council where I was processing applications for foster carers, including processing personal and professional references, local authority checks and medical checks. I was also responsible for booking foster carers training and booking them onto each course. Towards the end of the role I began learning the payment side of fostering, including processing expenses and processing the bi-weekly payments for Foster Carers. I am now still working in Wirral Council, but my role is now Finance Officer for Special Guardianship, Adoption and Direct Payments. I undertake yearly audits for each of the departments, making sure we are paying the correct amount to each guardian/parent. I attend direct payment panel which we decide how many hours would be awarded to each child for a worker to look after each week. I also attend permanence panel for Special Guardian where it is decided if the local authority supports the application for SGO. I process the pay run bi-weekly also for our parents/ guardians.
