Background
About Laura McKenzie
I seek to strengthen and sustain an organization’s mission through philanthropy. Over the past several years, I’ve had the benefit of understanding both the grantor and grantee sides of the grants process. My 8 years of experience at the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) gave me a launchpad into multiple aspects of grants management including grant program compliance, data management, and event logistics. In addition to my IMLS federal grantor experience, I bring an understanding of the grant seeker perspective through successive development positions at the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), where I honed prospect research and grant writing skills, matching programmatic needs of AAM with foundation and corporate donor priorities.
