About Laura Munns

I aim to create a positive impact through the work that I do, and inspire those around me to do the same. These days I'd desicribe myself as a collaborator: I get to design and help deliver incredible activations, events and experiences across four zoos (Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Kyabram Fauna Park). I'm part of Zoos Victoria's Business Development team so I measure my success through commercial impact and customer feedback metrics, whilst working closely with our conservation, education and life sciences teams to ensure we're saving species that are facing extinction. And I feel pretty good about that! My portfolio includes - Visitor, Customer Engagement, Tourism and Sponsorships. Prior to working in conservation, I've led teams focused on customer engagement, sales, digital strategy and optimisation, social media, PR and media strategy, and brand communications. I am highly skilled in strategy development, strategic and business planning, reputation management and crisis communications, brand communications and marketing, creative thinking and concepting, copywriting, campaign and event management, corporate positioning communications, community engagement, and integrated campaign planning. I also have experience managing budgets, overseeing major tech systems implementations, and change management. I hold a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing from University of Melbourne and a English Language and Literature BA Hons from the University of Reading, U.K.
