About Laura Murphy

I am driven by my passions. I believe that a community of people who share a passion and a purpose can make a lasting difference in creating a sustainable world. I lead by cultivating culture and experiences to inspire and bring people together. My formal education is in Environmental Studies, I am raising two beautiful girls, and I co-founded, with my husband Matt, a successful software company for managing Corporate Sustainability and Worker Safety. Throughout, I have found my greatest rewards in bringing people together to create meaningful experiences and positive impacts on the world. One of my standout personal achievements in corporate life was the creation of a methodology for uncovering the business needs of our customers centered on understanding true needs, true value, and the importance of understanding ‘why’. Why is perhaps the toughest question we ever encounter. Why is this necessary? Why do I care so deeply about this issue? Why would others share my vision that collectively we can make a real and lasting difference in a world that appears increasingly divided and degraded? As my life goes on I am driven to respond to the many whys we encounter each day, and threads continue to come together as I weave my life’s tapestry. My studies in mindfulness taught me the importance of being awake, of being aware of what is happening right now in the present moment. Deepening my Yoga practice taught me how to simply love being in my body. Perhaps love is the answer to almost any why we encounter. Why should we believe in a better world? Because we all have the ability to feel and share love. And what could be more important for creating a sustainable world than love for all beings and the earth? That is where my new journey will lead me and I invite you to join me as it moves forward.
