About Laura Romero
Audio producer, radio-maker, professor and researcher, I love to create projects in different languages and territories. I have lived in France, Spain, Portugal and Colombia working for universities, media and radio stations. My work is based on the intimacy and poetry of sound as a powerful tool to tell stories and preserve memories. I am strongly interested in documentary field and the confluence of audio artistic works in a multilingual space. Speaking Spanish, Catalan/Valencian, French, English and Portuguese. Granted with the First prize in the International Radio Contest of Montréal (2016), nominated in HearSay International Audio Arts Festival in Ireland (2019). For my PhD, my research was focused on the study of spatial dimension of sound, specifically to improve mental imagery and transport the listener inside the story. Speaker-participant Festival Longueur d’Ondes (Brest, 2016), Encuentro Nacional de Radios Comunitarias de Colombia (Bogotá, 2017), Radiodays Europe (Vienna, 2018), International Feature Conference (Prague, 2018). Some of my articles and papers were published in Instituto Oficial de Radio Televisión Española (Madrid), Radio Doc Review (Australia), Uniandes (Bogotá) and Universitat Politècnica de València.
