About Laura Sarnovsky

I began my career as a middle school Science Teacher and was promoted to Teacher Leader and Assistant Principal for a middle school in my district in Michigan. After 9 years, my family relocated to Canada and I was the Curriculum Specialist for an Undergraduate Medical School in London, Ontario, Canada. 3 years later we relocated back to America and I became an Adjunct Professor for a Community College in Louisiana. These experiences have exposed me to a broad range of academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds with students and faculty. I have experience in leading teams and providing direction to faculty and staff to run smooth programs and reach targeted goals. I have developed and successfully implemented a number of programs and policies while working closely with a support team. I have very strong leadership and communication skills, am very organized and I have a track record of exceeding expectations. Additionally, I am passionate about helping students and staff reach their goals. As a teacher and Assistant Principal, I have participated on committees to improve the K-12 curriculum, selected district textbooks and teaching materials, run professional development sessions to help train teachers on best teaching practices, and collected data and written reports to maintain our school’s NCA Accreditation. As the Curriculum Specialist, I worked closely with faculty to help them teach more effectively in order to reach their students and to have higher student satisfaction and greater test scores for Medical School. I participated in governance committees that worked to improve the overall undergraduate medical education program and played a key role in helping the University regain their National Accreditation. I am a NASM-CPT, NASM-CNC, GGS-Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist & TRX Qualified Instructor.
