About Laura Sorvala

Laura is a Finnish illustrator and visual facilitator based in Cardiff, Wales, and working across the UK and Europe. With over a decade of experience in supporting startups, community organisations and businesses, she specialises in observing and visualising ‘the big picture’. Laura uses a combination of creative thinking, illustration, facilitation and design skills to help communicate things in a more engaging and effective way. She does live illustration at different scales to help capture content and engage audiences, uses visual materials to encourage meaningful conversation and collaboration, illustrates stories and imaginative ideas, designs creative concepts and produces materials. She is passionate about working with third sector organisations, innovation and community projects. She has been involved in volunteer community initiatives such as social design projects and running local Trade School events in Cardiff. Before embarking on her independent journey, Laura worked as a designer at branding agency Stills.
