About Laura Valtonen

I believe the world can and must be made a better place, and to do this we need different avenues. I feel strongly about global justice, equality, and human rights. In Finland today, prejudice and racism are urgent issues in my view. Most recently, I conducted an ethnographical study on a peer support project for unaccompanied asylum seeker children in Helsinki for my Master's Thesis. Another passion of mine is self-awareness and understanding differences between people - work that has significantly been supported by the study of the enneagram, teaching it, and training enneagram teachers. Having known the enneagram from an early age, I started professional studies with Doctor David Daniels and Peter O'Hanrahan in 2007, and was certified as an Enneagram Teacher in the Narrative Tradition in 2009. I am a member of the EPTP team (Enneagram Professional Training Program) in Finland, and trainer of narrative enneagram teachers. Since 2015 I have been involved with the work of Enneagram Prison Project, and served on the board of the Finnish Enneagram Association (IEA Finland) for three years. I am currently a board member of the International Enneagram Association (IEA), and The Narrative Enneagram (TNE).
