About Laura Walker

Immediately after graduating from nursing school and passing my boards, I began my nursing career as a Surgical Nurse. Besides a few month stent where I also worked in a post-partum unit, I remained a surgical nurse for close to 23 years. During my career, I have participated in surgeries on every body system and in every age group. During the greater part of my career, our department was also responsible for performing endoscopies. I became proficient in many kinds of monitoring, surgical, and positioning equipment, and charting programs as needed. My latest position was as an outpatient infusion nurse where I administered several different types of injections, medication, hydration and biologic infusions, blood transfusions, and bladder chemotherapy instillation. I am proficient in IV and CVL access. I am interested in using a combination of my skills and learning new ones for my next position.
