About Laurel Long

Patience, creativity, and flexibility are a few of my strongest traits. I am compassionate and creative recent college graduate looking to obtain a position as an Elementary School Teacher, dedicated to creating a learning atmosphere that is stimulating and encouraging to all students. After high school I began my undergraduate education at Virginia Western Community College. I graduated from Virginia Western Community College in 2018 and transferred to Radford University to continue my education. While attending school I have taught as an assistant teacher at Orchard Hills Day School. I have worked there for 4 years with ages infant through 12 years old. In addition, I previously have interned in a kindergarten and first grade classroom. In addition, I was placed at Christiansburg Primary school for my Early Field Experience. During my time there I interned in a second grade classroom. I am currently student teaching at Christiansburg Elementary school in a fourth grade classroom. When I am not working or at school spending time in the outdoors. I love to go camping, spend days at Smith Mountain Lake, hike, garden, and spend time with my family and friends.
