About Lauren Beech

My name is Lauren Beech and I am a fourth-year student at the University of Florida studying Public Relations and Communication Studies. I started out my freshman year as a dietetics major. Growing up, i loved nutrition and learning about different foods and their effects on the body, and how eating right can drastically change your life. After taking my first semester classes, I quickly realized my favorite classes were not my science courses that related to dietetics, but my reading and writing classes that had nothing to do with my major! I had to come to terms with the fact that loving nutrition does not have to turn into my career, instead, my career should be something that I love learning and studying and something I'm good at! Throughout my life, I've consistently demonstrated strong people skills, effective public speaking abilities, adept communication, and a talent for networking. The combination of these traits has unequivocally led me to the realization that a career in public relations and communication studies is not just my forte but where I am destined to thrive. I've always had strong confidence in my innate leadership qualities, tough work ethic, and intense drive for success, and I know these traits will push me to be the best in my career field. I'm currently in the process of applying to join The Agency here at UF to enhance my skills and expand my knowledge about the PR and advertising industry. While I am excited to gain valuable insights through this opportunity, I am also enthusiastic about initiating my career at an early stage by securing internships to acquire hands-on, real-life experience.
