Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm a Los Angeles-based entertainment journalist currently working at Variety as an editorial intern. I graduated in 2024 from DePaul University in Chicago with a BA in journalism and a BFA in Film and Television. During my time at DePaul, I contributed to the DePaulia as an arts critic in addition to working as a freelance film critic. As a freelancer, I've pitched and reported original stories and reviews for outlets including RogerEbert, Paste, The AV Club, Vulture, Consequence, Polygon, Nerdist, and Digital Spy, among others. As a freelance critic, I've been a member of the Chicago Film Critics Association and GALECA, as well as a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic. As I transition into full-time journalism post-graduation, I'm excited to get to know my new home in Los Angeles and continue developing my craft with the incredible editorial team at Variety.
