About Lauren E. Loosveldt

With 16 years of design experience, Lauren is a Project Architect who brings a resolute determination to every challenge, working hard to discover a design which is both effective and sustainable. She does so with a true passion for problem solving and collaboration with her design team. Her personable approach respects the perspective of all team members resulting in lasting relationships and a truly enjoyable project delivery. Lauren is an Associate Principal, Project Architect and Green Team Leader at Opsis. Her history demonstrates a well-rounded foundation of Interior Design and Green Building Consulting. Lauren has a long history with the Portland AIA serving as Chair of the Committee on The Environment (COTE) and AIA Oregon Board Delegate and Legislative Affairs Committee. She has worked with building owners, municipalities and organizations to achieve their sustainability goals. As a member of the Portland Materials Transparency Collaborative (PMTC) Lauren leads the Green Specifications Focus Group. She serves locally as Chair of Milwaukie’s Planning Commission to implement the City’s ambitious Climate Action Plan. Mrs. Loosveldt obtained her undergraduate degree at Washington State University. Graduating in 2007, Lauren received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design with an emphasis in Sustainable Development. She graduated Magna Cum Laude among her class and was the first student to have achieved LEED Accreditation prior to graduation. After completing her degree, Lauren worked as a Green Building Consultant for two years at Green Building Services in Portland, Oregon.
