About Lauren Gee

Experienced social impact, culture, community, housing and development, infrastructure and regeneration professional with a demonstrated history of working with local authorities, communities, social enterprises and non-profit industry and a passion for social value/impact. Skilled in strategic development; fundraising and bid-writing; large scale infrastructure project and programme management; sustainability and net zero; research and analytics; business case development, appraisals, socio-economic impact assessment and evaluation (HM Treasury Green Book and Magenta Book compliant); community and stakeholder engagement; and procurement. Strong education professional with an LLB Law degree, Postgrad in Housing, and Foundation Degree in Breastfeeding Counselling. I also work as a freelance copywriter and content manager. I began working in publishing in 2001, for International Labmate, where I was responsible for website support, development and content writing. Since 2011 I have had a successful copywriting career, working with companies such as Netflix, Three, Panasonic, Sony, Nintendo, Asmodee, Bugaboo, Britax, Halfords and Amazon and extending my writing work to provide copywriting and content management for other organisations and businesses. Additionally, I am the volunteer Managing Director of Dicing With Life CIC, a social enterprise which runs a community games club and Board Games Cafe aimed at promoting social inclusion through tabletop gaming, creativity and gamification. I founded Dicing With Life myself in 2017 - having identified a need through my work with the local community - using an award-winning business co-location model. Since 2017 Dicing With Life has grown to have a membership of over 1500, with three volunteer company directors and a network of over 50 volunteers supporting me to deliver several organised gaming sessions a week for local people. I have also successfully achieved funding for a number of projects, including provision of an extensive, free to use community games library which is available throughout all opening hours. I also work with Moonstone, as part of their Goblin Scheme (promoting Moonstone through organised play, online content writing and YouTube), and with Warcradle Studios as a Warhost.
