About Lauren Hare

I am an alumna of the University of Otago with a BSc and PGDipSci majoring in Human Nutrition. I moved to the UK on a 2-year working visa in mid 2020 and achieved a skilled worker, health and care worker visa in 2022. Since arriving within the UK I have completed training with the NHS to be an IUC Health Advisor, and a further to become a Non-Clinical Auditor. I now work as a Home Enteral Nutrition Dietetic Care Assistant within the NHS. Having always wanted to help people, while also seeing how much nutrition can positively and negatively impact an individual, I was naturally drawn to the field with the goal of being part of positive change. I am always looking to develop further within my field and for opportunities to challenge my current skills and knowledge. Eventually I would love to complete a masters in Dietetics. During my university studies I worked in the hospitality industry in both introductory and managerial roles, which involved working closely with a variety of different people of all different genders, capabilities, ethnicities, religions, and ages. That experience has enabled me to develop valuable communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, thus gaining a greater understanding for how differently people communicate. This has allowed me to respond accordingly to each person and has given me the ability to build rapport with ease. I am very well organized and meticulous with great time-management skills, dependability, and customer service skills. I work well in high-pressure environments and always accomplish every given task to a very high standard.
