About Lauren Obrien

Welcome! I'm Lauren O'Brien (some people call me "Bo"), a journalist from Washington, D.C, now based in San Diego. I've spent the last decade working with publishers — including National Geographic, The Los Angeles Times, and RYOT News — covering stories about culture and exploration. My work has brought me all over the world, from tracking lions in Uganda's savannah to meeting with Balinese healers in Indonesia. As a writer, I don't just use words to describe what I see; I create stories and scenes that bring the reader somewhere new and unexpected. Beyond writing, I've become an expert in SEO, social media marketing, content management, and more. To get a better sense of my work, please feel free to explore my portfolio.(https://loobrienle.wixsite.com/bohemianbo)
