About Lauren Pascoe

I am passionate about empowering individuals and helping others navigate challenging situations and am now looking to expand my impact to the legal field. I have over three years of case management experience in reentry, with a focus on employment and workforce development for formerly incarcerated individuals and I recently earned my Paralegal Certificate through UC Irvine's accelerated program. As part of the paralegal program, I took eleven courses in three months and from this experience, I developed strong skills in legal research and writing. I gained hands-on experience using Lexis and Westlaw to locate primary and secondary authorities and drafted a variety of legal documents, including case briefs, trial briefs, and memos. I earned a Legal Research badge for my work, which strengthened my ability to communicate legal findings clearly and concisely. In my civil litigation classes, I prepared documents used during the discovery process, including interrogatories, responses, requests for production of documents, deposition notices, and client status letters. In my most recent role as an Employment Case Manager, I supported more than sixty women in developing individualized employment and educational goals. I also collaborated closely with legal teams and service providers to ensure smooth coordination of support services, while tracking progress and maintaining organized case files. My work in reentry has included teaching a professional development course inside LA County’s women’s jail and creating a comprehensive 12-module online curriculum to help clients prepare for workforce reintegration. I’ve also led collaboration efforts and established partnerships with community organizations and employers to expand opportunities for our clients. In my free time, I am an active UC Irvine alumni chapter lead, where I support chapter events for students and other alumni. I am also part of the scholarship committee, where I read incoming student scholarship applications and work with a team to determine which students receive first-year scholarships. I have participated in scholarship reading for 3 years. I also love to read and travel. So far, I have been to 7 countries and I look forward to continuing to step out of my comfort zone.
