About Lauren Pool

As the Senior Manager, Science Experiences at Arizona Science Center, I lead a dynamic team at the intersection of science education, public engagement, and culturally responsive information. My role blends strategic leadership, content innovation, and cross-departmental collaboration to bring science to life for diverse audiences. Currently, I oversee a team composed of three core science areas environmental, physical science and technology. I manage a group of senior scientists and collaborate closely with other STEM education leaders to design, launch, and evaluate high-impact programs — from daily floor experiences to large-scale seasonal events. My background is uniquely interdisciplinary: I hold a BA in Socio-Cultural Anthropology and a Master’s in Library and Information Science, complemented by 20 years in hospitality — where I honed my skills in communication, operations, and visitor-centered service. Today, I apply that experience to create compelling science experiences that are accessible, relevant, and inspiring. In my current role, I:* Lead the strategy and execution of many public-facing science experiences * Manage large cross-functional events and programs in partnership with internal and external stakeholders * Oversee grant deliverables, data tracking, and impact reporting * Ensure visitor engagement through interactive spaces, workshops and rotating floor activities I'm passionate about making science approachable, memorable, and meaningful — especially for underrepresented communities. I thrive in environments where organized chaos turns into innovative, empathetic change that is strategically aligned to create pathways for people to create their own upward social mobility.
