Lauren is a Research Nurse Clinician at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital (formerly known as Royal Oak Beaumont), specializing in Cardiovascular Research. She is trained on multiple structural heart research protocols and recruits eligible patients for each respective study. In doing so, she prioritizes the patients' rights as research participants and always ensures that their questions are answered thoroughly prior to enrolling them in a study. Once consented, she plans, schedules, and performs research activities per the protocol. She works closely with the Physician Investigators, ensuring eligibility prior to consent, reporting clinical outcomes, and discussing protocol details. She produces and organizes accurate source documentation and regulatory documentation, which satisfies both the sponsor's and FDA's standards. She sees herself as an advocate for the patient, guiding them throughout their entire research participation, which in some cases could be up to 10 years.
