About Lauren Turtle

A recent performance and production graduate with over ten years experience in hospitality and entertainment, I bring with me a strong foundation of team work, creativity, communication and administrative skills. I have worked in many roles across hospitality ranging from front of house service to kitchen management and am confident in my ability to interact with both customers and colleagues effectively. Passionate about food, well traveled and coming form a family of chefs, my ideal setting would be creating delicious, diverse and authentic meals from across the globe. My most recent success was heading the kitchen at a local cafe bakery whereby we doubled our intake over the two years I managed the team. My daily routine revolved around working both in a customer facing position heading the coffee machine and serving food as well as leading the kitchen preparing meals and baked goods. My position allowed me to effectively supervise a close team of people, take in deliveries, stock rotate and manage customer orders. I take pride in treating both my colleagues and customers with personal service and do my best to go above and beyond to bring a positive attitude to work. Along with hospitality skills, I have extensive experience working in various roles across the acting industry. I am a trained actor and bring with me many transferable skills such as improvisation, confidence and quick, logical thinking. I have worked both in front and behind the camera, effectively managing a crew of actors or supporting my directors with diligent time keeping, creative thinking and working to tight deadlines. Most recently, I curated my own exhibition showcasing my interest in contemporary art and combining it with love of acting. It explored how we communicate with people in our lives and express ourselves when influenced by sensory stimuli. It's success allowed me to take pride in my ability to organise a large scale event and explore communication styles with empathy and understanding. I am looking to work in a career that fulfills my communicative and creative nature and I take pride in doing any job to the best of my ability whilst always striving to learn and progress. My curiosity and creativity allows me to bring a positive attitude to work and make my job somewhere I look forward to going everyday.
